Allegan District Library offers the use of three meeting rooms to the public. Use of these rooms is limited to local or area educational, civic, cultural, community, professional, or government groups. Local is defined as organization within the boundaries of the Allegan Library District or an organization with a significant membership residing in the Library District. Groups or persons using our meeting rooms agree to abide by the Allegan District Library Meeting Room Policy which can be found HERE.
In fairness to the community, no more than two reservations can be made per organization per quarter. Reservations can be made for the current quarter or the next quarter; quarters run December-February, March-May, June-August, and September-November. After your first meeting is over, you may schedule an additional reservation in the same or next quarter. Our meeting room availability calendar can be found HERE. Please make sure the room you are requesting is available for the times you request (click the name of the event and you will see a pop-up with the location).
The Carnegie Room is our large historic meeting room, which can be accessed from Hubbard Street outside or from the main entrance of the library via elevator. The Carnegie Room has a max capacity of 122 persons; there are 19 folding tables and 80 chairs available for use. There is an accessible single-person restroom and a small kitchenette with a sink located on this floor of the building. Groups may only serve food and beverages in the Carnegie Room with prior approval. The Carnegie Room also features a wall-mounted monitor for presentations, as well as ceiling-mounted speakers and a podium with microphone. Groups must be able to set up their own technology, limited staff assistance is available.
The Board Room is a medium-sized meeting room for smaller groups. The Board Room can be accessed from the main entrance on Hubbard Street or the Riverfront parking lot entrance. The Board Room has a max seated capacity of 12 persons; there is one large table and 12 chairs available for use. Groups may only serve food and beverages in the Board Room with prior approval. At this time, there Board Room does not have conference call technology; it is forthcoming. Groups must be able to set up their own technology, limited staff assistance is available.
The Children’s Program Room is a medium-sized meeting room for smaller groups. The Children’s Program Room can be accessed from the Riverfront parking lot entrance or the main entrance on Hubbard Street via elevator. The Children’s Program Room has a max capacity of 50 persons; there are 8 folding tables and 20 chairs available for use. There is a kitchenette with sink in the room and an accessible family restroom located on the same floor of the building. Groups may serve food and beverages in the Children’s Program Room and are required to clean up any spills. The Children’s Program Room also features a wall-mounted monitor and a sound bar for presentations. Groups must be able to set up their own technology, limited staff assistance is available.
For all rooms, groups must be able to set up and take down any chairs and tables, staff are not available for assistance. Groups should leave the room in the state in which they found it. Room use is currently only available during regular open library hours.
