| The regular meeting of the
Board of Trustees was held on June 19, 2007. President
Shawn Gavan called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.
Present were Director Ann Perrigo, Trustees Nancy
Ingalsbee, Shawn Gavan, Hollis Hough, Lyn Huff and Susan
Jerkatis. The Board bid goodbye to Lyn Huff who has
served eight years and who will be sorely missed. Minutes from the May Board meeting were approved upon a motion made by Trustee Huff and seconded by Trustee Hough. The financial reports were reviewed, and, upon a motion made by Trustee Huff and seconded by Trustee Ingalsbee, the bills presented by Director Perrigo were approved for payment. OLD BUSINESS: An update on the Friends Committee was given by Trustee Ingalsbee. District Issue: The matter is progressing well. A time line for this matter was given to the Committee by the Attorney. Policy Committee: A policy committee meeting will be held 7/17 at 5:30 pm. Directors Evaluation: It was the consensus of the Board that the form for the evaluation submitted by the County was not relevant to our needs. Director Perrigo was requested to seek more appropriate forms from other libraries and the evaluation postponed until such forms are located. Exterior Painting: Director Perrigo has been attempting to get someone over to do the exterior painting but they are not responding. It was pointed out that a board is missing on the soffit and needs to be repaired. NEW BUSINESS Work Day: It was decided to hold an outdoor work day to spruce and clean up the landscaping on July 1 at 2:00 pm. Bulk Mail Permit: A motion was made by Trustee Jerkatis and seconded b Trustee Huff that the library seek a bulk mail permit at a cost of $350 the first year and $175 thereafter. Motion passed. Air Conditioning: Upon a motion made by Trustee Ingalsbee, seconded by Trustee Huff, Director Perrigo is to get bids on an air conditioning unit to be installed in the upstairs meeting room by the August Board meeting at a maximun cost of $5000. Motion passed. Librarians Report: Director Perrigo attended a Disaster Preparedness meeting past month, and found it to be very worthwhile and changes will be made to conform to the suggestions covered. The summer reading program is going very well. The new Book Club is going to meet the first Tuesday of every month. The book to be read first is Water For Elephants. There are five enrollees and three more interested. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm. The next meeting will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday July 24, 2007.
