Minutes-Board of Trustees

May 20, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President Shawn Gavan at 7:02 P.M. Present were President Shawn Gavan, Trustees Hollis Hough, Nancy Ingalsbee, Ed Kowalski, and Billi Williams. Also present was Library Director Ann Perrigo.

Upon a Motion by Trustee Kowalski, seconded by Trustee Hough, the Minutes for the April Board of Trustees meeting were approved as read.

The Financial Reports were reviewed and the bills presented by Director Perrigo were approved upon a Motion made by Trustee Ingalsbee and seconded by Trustee Kowalski.

Old Business:

Friends: The Friends Report was given by Trustee Ingalsbee. The Friends have decided to honor a Volunteer of the Year from its group, and the person chosen will be given the award at the Friends May 27^th meeting.

District Issue: The Board of Trustees, upon a motion made by Trustee Ingalsbee, and seconded by Trustee Kowalski, approved the District Library Resolution presented by Director Perrigo, which was duly signed by the Secretary Pro Tem. This exciting project is fast approaching approval.

Building Maintenance: On Thursday May 29^th the new furnace and the air conditioner in the Carnegie Meeting room will be installed. Due to the need to have a large crane lift the equipment over the roof and the safety concerns resulting from this, the library will be closed on the 29^th.

Work Room: The work room renovations will take place in July.

New Business:

Librarian’s Report: The ALA meeting will be in Anaheim, CA the last week of June, and Director Perrigo will attend. Director Perrigo will attend North Ward School’s Career Day and talk about being a librarian.

With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
