Minutes from the December Board meeting were approved on a Motion by Trustee Huff, seconded by Trustee Hough. Bills for payment were approved on a Motion was made by Trustee Huff, seconded by Trustee Jerkatis.

OLD BUSINESS:

Friends Committee: Historian John Pahl will be the speaker at the Friends program on January January 29, 2006. This past year was the second highest for earnings with the book sales.

District Issue: The Board of Trustees will attend the regularly scheduled meetings of the School Board and City Council to discuss the issue of a District Library. The City Council meets on February 26, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., and the School Board, on February 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m at Dawson School. A motion was made that the Resolution to Appoint Members to the District Library Planning Committee will be presented to the City Council and the School Board at their regular February meetings. The Motion passed 4 yes votes and 1 no vote.

Personnel: Nancy Thelan has begun working, as well as a volunteer who is doing an internship for her degree in library science from Wayne State. We have received several applications for part-time circulation clerk for the summer, and it will be a prerequisite that they work all of June and July.

New Business:

Township Letters: The letters for the townships will be produced shortly to send requests for funds out for this fiscal year.

Public Comment: The Secretary reported a thank you was sent for the Computers to the Gates.

Librarians Report: Director Perrigo leaves for the American Library Association meeting on next Thursday and will be gone for one week. The meeting is in Seattle this year.

The Meeting was adjourned at 8:06 pm. The next meeting will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday February 14, 2006.
